Daniel McAtackney will be venturing to the coldest depths of The Arctic next month and climbing up to Mount Sarkofagan on the polar island of Svalbard in aid of SOSAD Ireland.
Svalbard is a daunting and dangerous place where it is illegal to go outside the local villages without a gun, due to Polar Bears. He will be camping for his time there and experiencing the harsh but beautiful arctic landscape of walruses, glaciers, icebergs and cold.
He is hoping to raise awareness and funds for a charity close to his heart. As a suicide survivor himself, he is always attentive to building meaning and hope.
