Join A Team That Provides Vital, Life Saving Services

At SOSAD Ireland we have a number of volunteer opportunities. Our large volunteer base is a strong component of our charity, and each and every member of the team provides these vital, life-saving services. Full training and support will be given throughout your time with us. For further information on any of these roles, please contact your local office specifically.

Suicide Intervention Officer (SIO)

As a Suicide Intervention Officer, you will work night shifts and/ or weekend shifts. Generally the weeknight roster runs from 6PM to 10AM, Monday-Friday, and the weekend roster (including bank holidays) from 10AM-6PM and then 6PM-10AM. However, there is also the option to split shifts answering helpline calls. This remote role is vital in ensuring that our crisis phone-line is operational 24/7. Full training and ongoing support, including supervision, is provided.

Admin Volunteer

Our office staff are vital for keeping each office running smoothly and effectively. Daily tasks include meeting and greeting clients, assisting with booking in clients for counselling, answering the phones, liaising with office coordinators and general office duties.

Fundraising Volunteer

SOSAD Ireland relies heavily on community donations and organised events. While some people and groups may decide to arrange a single fundraiser, or a yearly event, we are always keen to have volunteers available for more frequent positions. This could range from simple bucket collections, to creating your own fundraiser from start to finish. How ever you feel you could help us with raising funds to support our services, we would love to hear from you.

What’s your talent?

If you feel you have any talents that could benefit our charity in any way other than the roles and responsibilities previously mentioned, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch via our Online Contact Form
